What is Carousel Management Software?

Carousel Management Software is the management of stock in a vertical carousel or vertical lift system. A request is made for a part to be picked or put away. A series of shelves in a carousel rotate in an oval loop and stops at the opening when the correct shelf arrives.

In the case of a vertical lift a number of trays are stacked towards the back and front above the opening. An extractor will then retrieve the tray between the elevator to pull or retract the tray and bringing this to the opening.
